Finally christened my blog.
Reason for 'perestroika':- Being born in the year 1984, the year Mikhail Gorbachev started the Russian Revolution of turning the country in a democratic non-communist nation, my father wanted to name me after it(perestroika). Thanfully (and eternally gratefull for it) my mom had her way, and named me ,what she did.
Need any other reason....ehh?
very interesting (read weird) ...
ReplyDeleteare you serious your dad wanted to name you 'perestroika'??

Man...perestrioka bhandari.....that would be the weirdest name in Pune....hahahha.
ReplyDelete@zaki, my father being the scientist he is, had come up wid the idea, we still have a good laugh over it, whenever the topic comes up at home.
ReplyDelete@preeti, yes I too like my name, and I am glad I spell it PRATIK and not PRATEEK, also perestroika is russian for revolution.
@anirudh, I guess too, that it would have been a strange name.
hey did I say Prateek no I said Pratik only :)
ReplyDeleteyes u said pratik, but what i meant was that some guys write it as prateek, which i dont like, im glad i write it as pratik :)
ReplyDeletedude...thats funny man!!! perestroika. Imagine in the regular pune style of nicknames...they add the 'ya' at the end of the name eg. kapya (kapil), wapya (swapnil) etc. In that case you wud have beem Perya. hehe
ReplyDelete@ roodge, I swear it would have become something like tht.
