When the indian economy was opened in 1991, people feard that indian industry won't survive the competion by foreign companies, but they did and are doing very well. So when retail sector is opened I am sure the small shopowners will survive too. But more importantly retail is gonna provide a very large scale employment.Perestroikahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05536174555111145365noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15879981.post-1138280772425426802006-01-26T07:06:00.000-06:002006-01-26T07:06:00.000-06:00I am not a Leftist, but I somehow seem to agree wi...I am not a Leftist, but I somehow seem to agree with them.<BR/>But again as before, I have a strong feeling that the Left is helpless and can do nothing more than protest...Zaki Mhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05207374791734227408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-15879981.post-1138253926034044242006-01-25T23:38:00.000-06:002006-01-25T23:38:00.000-06:00the world is globalizing. The idea that mass production whether its assembly line...or having a mcdonalds in every major city of this world....is that it reduces variation and hence reduces costs and enhances profits. So even if the 51% of the sector is opened, we are still looking at more money circulating, hence higher profits and hence enhanced capital investment. I think this is good news. Yes the bad news is that the concept of independent retail will change now. Lets see how it breaks down man.Roodgehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14482155299224397955noreply@blogger.com
